Village of New Paltz Embraces Digital Transformation with Advanced Land-Use Board Management Platform
NEW PALTZ, NY – January 31st, 2025 – The Village of New Paltz announces a step forward in municipal governance with the implementation of a purpose-built digital platform to enhance the operations of its building department and land-use review boards. The Village has partnered with Kingston-based GovTech innovator MuniCollab to modernize the way residents submit applications and improve the review process for officials, property owners, and the general public.
“This platform marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to modernize village operations,” said Tim Rogers, Mayor of New Paltz. “By implementing MuniCollab’s advanced portal, we’re not just digitizing paperwork – we’re creating a more accessible, efficient, and responsive planning process that better serves our community’s evolving needs. This technology empowers both our staff and residents to engage more effectively in the village’s
development.”
On February 1st, 2025 the Building Department will begin accepting Zoning Determination requests via the MuniCollab platform. In February the Planning Board will begin accepting its Site Plan and Subdivision applications via MuniCollab. The Zoning Board of Appeals will follow on the heels of the Planning Board’s implementation of the system.
The MuniCollab system modernizes every aspect of the land use review cycle, from initial application submission to final decision-making, while ensuring complete transparency throughout the process.
The new system will deliver multiple benefits to the New Paltz community, including:
