HELP DEVELOP A VISION FOR GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE IN NEW PALTZ

Public participation is welcome and encouraged to gain an understanding of the benefits and opportunities for green infrastructure in New Paltz and to shape capital planning and implementation of sustainable systems  to improve  drainage  and  quality  of  stormwater flowing to our waterways. The Village of New Paltz is undertaking this project to advance project readiness and construction
for increased integration of green infrastructure.

The Project includes three primary phases: 1) screening and priority site selection, 2) feasibility analysis for three preferred sites, and 3) Preparation of a Capital Improvements Feasibility Plan. This project aims to provide information for community comprehensive planning and incorporation smart growth principals into land use plans and policies, providing for long-term sustainability and a framework for resource-efficient site design and construction to help advance adoption of green practices and policies for streets and parking lots (public and private). This project also aids the Village’s designation as a Climate Smart Community (SCS) and Municipal Separate Strom Sewer System (MS4).
